LFW: Jean-Pierre Braganza Catwalk Show

After a grand and possibly quite considered entrance from Shingai Shoniwa, the show got off to a surprising start. Gone were the tired gothic motifs and pallette of last season to make way for slouchy tailoring in neutral colours (this season with the addition of loose fitting suits and jackets for men). There was some clever stuff going on. A dusty pink biker jacket extended into a dress, a flocked silk gown was dressed down with…another biker jacket and cocktail dresses were decorated with a delicate, abstracted angel wing print. The strengths of this collection lay in the simpler elements; particularly the silk tailored pieces – a cleverly cut pinafore dress, a buttoned up sleeveless jumpsuit and a pair of low slung trousery harem pants.

Glamour was provided by a Nicholas Kirkwood shoe collaboration, Patrick Woolf, the aforementioned Noisette and jewels by McQueen favourite, Stephen Webster.
