LFW: Holly Fulton Catwalk Show

When a collection cites Joan Collins in Monaco as an influence, you know you’re in for a big hit of glamour. Taking a Vogue Italia/1970’s disco approach to design (and to my delight, soundtrack), Holly Fulton’s collection was vintage Riviera. Crazy paving prints, contrasting colours and long, lean dresses intermingled with clean vests and sleek leopard-print skirts. It was a perfect mix of commercial pieces and more outlandish pieces; one look being pure Alexis Knox (bright print bodysuit with fur bolero and sunglasses) while the next was understated daytime plain vest with a patterned skirt. Fulton has created a full SS11 wardrobe for an adventurous, glamorous woman, rather than a series of disconnected looks. Bright yellow PVC skirts emblazoned with cocktail glasses might not be the most practical thing, but they sure looked FAB. Suitcase handbags finished off a show of looks that were universally brilliant, vintage Versace-esque fun. Holly Fulton is definitely one to watch.
