Ever since roots went from faux-pas to must have, Emma Watson got THAT crop, and Cheryl turned her hair all manner of purple shades, fashion has developed an obsession with statement hair. Two women leading this fash-moment are bewigged style chameleons Rihanna and Nicki Minaj (whose hair styles seem to change as frequently as their outfits). Unsurprisingly most of us have already fallen for Rihanna’s latest flame-haired incarnation but the aesthetic virtues of eccentric newcomer Minaj have yet to be extolled-that is until now.
Now it might seem bizarre to advocate the style of a woman who thinks top to toe purple leather is a good look and who calls herself a “Harajuku Barbie”, but we’ve learnt that anything is possible post-Gaga and this includes finding Nicki Minaj’s dip-dye hair strangely appealing. A bit reminiscent of those make up and hair dolls you had when you were a kid, this style involves DIY paper stencils and play school colours. So get yourself a can of temporary hair spray and start playing.
