Wilmont’s catwalk show featured good music, but on the fashion front: un-inspirational.
The collection consisted of greys, blacks and washed out purple, as well as the odd metallic segment. Many of the styles and shapes appeared to be very familiar to this (and last) season’s fashion statements; leather shorts, sheepskin ‘drape’ coats, and the all time favourite – the boyfriend/slouchy blazer with printed leggings.
The prints featured were a faded purple colour; tie-dye-esque, and slightly repetitive, also equivalent to Alexander McQueen’s pre-fall 2010 ‘x-ray’ type collection, which was also laser printed on silk.
However, personally I was keen on the jumpsuit and a maxi dress with that exact print, which was long on one side and short on the other. The high waisted, grey, jersey trousers were also a highlight, but overall the collection could have been more thrilling.
