Mount Kimbie Set to Release new EP: ‘Carbonated’

Last summer saw the release of Mount Kimbie’s debut album ‘Crooks and Lovers’; this summer sees the release of their follow up EP ‘Carbonated’. After being sent around the world due to the success of ‘Crooks and Lovers’, it only seems right to send them flying again for the imminent release of ‘Carbonated’. Set for release on June 27th via Hot Flush, ‘Carbonated’ follows the release of previous EP, ‘Blind Night Errand’.

Taken from their album, ‘Carbonated’ is accompanied by two previously unreleased tracks; ‘Flux and ‘Bave’s Chords’. Showcasing the lush and elegant sound that Mount Kimbie have become known for, the EP is a fine partner to ‘Crooks and Lovers’. Both tracks were recorded in the earlier days of Mount Kimbie, so it’s about time they got an airing. ‘Carbonated’ is also joined by a selection of remixes; a dark techno number from DJ Peter Van Hoesen and a more subtle mix from Airhead. ‘Adriatic’ (from Crooks) also sees a transformation from Klaus, giving it a lick of paint and an extra kick.

Their fusion of hip-hop, jazz, techno, post-rock and everything else in between, sees the duo surpass the ability to be pigeonholed. With this year’s SXSW and a current tour under their belt, Mount Kimbie will be all over the place this summer. Making appearances at Glastonbury, Field Day and Reading and Leeds, Mount Kimbie are a force to be reckoned with.

London club, Heaven, will be bouncing tomorrow night (28th April) with their headlining set. Make sure you have tickets!
