Street Style #1: Happy Because

A new weekly feature for you oh-so-lucky people, as Helen Turnbull works hard and digs deep to bring you the best examples of street style currently on the walkabout.

Spotlight: Happy Because

Boys and gals make some noise as I introduce to you; Frances Davison.

Say who?
Frances is an eighteen-year old (yeah, really- I wish I had half her pizzazz at that tender age), Central Saint Martins student with an evident penchant for fashion eras, fads and trends, been and gone.

She exudes vintage shabby-chic in her effortlessly cool ways with a helping hand from a handful of signature pieces from her mother’s (and father’s ) wardrobes. This illustrative example is no exception; the depiction of subtle, seventies glamour, all pieces are vintage finds. The girl strikes the balance between androgyny and femininity perfectly, on the regular.

The mannish, baggy blouse is prettified by its neutral tone and silky texture, juxtaposed  with grass-green flares create a flawless silhouette. The simple gold cuff, compliments the established colour palette whilst the wayfarers provide the finishing detail. Frances braves the risqué game of colour palettes and proportions, daily. The most alluring aspect? The absence of that put-together, meticulously thought-out façade.

Believe the hype
Frances is regularly papped at fashion-y events, making the cut onto big name street style galleries
