Club Beat #9 – The Best of the Balearic

Summer’s here so it’s time to hit Ibiza! Club Beat brings you the hottest events on the White isle…

1. Thank Fuc*k it’s Friday, Sankeys, Playa d’en Bossa, 17th June

The EDM Mecca of Manchester opens a new venue in Ibiza with a new sound system and vibrating dance floor, allowing clubbers to feel bass frequencies as they dance. Thank Fu*k is a weekly night promoting emerging talent. With an enviable line-up on 17th June providing funky sets of the best house, this venue is sure to be popular. Juan Kidd and Oliver Lang will play the hottest tracks and expect Prok & Fitch to ‘house it up’ with recent releases, The Tribe and Cabala. Think dark tans and Ray Bans as you dance amongst the cool kids.

2. Swedish House Mafia, Pacha, Ibiza Town, Monday 25th July

After nearly forty years of partying in style, Pacha remains a hotspot for the rich and famous. 25th July is a pure party night with SHM playing anthemic progressive house, no doubt including hits like Miami 2 Ibiza and One. Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Benny Benassi and Graham Sahara will treat clubbers to energetic house sets with a sprinkling of electro house. Also on the line-up is Thomas Gold, a DJ whose talented production and mixing you can’t afford to miss. Get ready to party with wicked tunes and beautiful people.

3. Monday’s Calling, Space, Playa d’en Bossa, Monday 22nd August

When the rest of Europe are tucking themselves into bed in preparation for another dreary day at work, the legendary venue, Space, is opening its doors for a sensational night of clubbing with Monday’s Calling. 22nd August is the ultimate night for fans of premier house labels, Toolroom and 303Lovers. Clubbers will be treated to diverse sets by label leaders, Mark Knight (Toolroom) and Manuel de la Mare and Alex Kenji (303Lovers), mixing techno, tech, progressive, minimal and all genres in between. Joining them, is Italian-born Toolroom favourite, Stefano Noferini, who will be playing some high octane, yet funky, house. Once the night is done and you’re meandering your way back to bed, don’t forget to send a cheeky text to your mates, just to let them know what they missed out on…

4. Be, Space, Playa d’en Bossa, Wednesday 7th September

Space has done it again, this time providing the perfect night out for the Trance Family. On 7th September, AvB will be taking over the dance floor to show why he has been recipient of so many prestigious awards and is continually ranked the world’s most popular DJ. Playing a set of the biggest trance tracks, AvB will treat clubbers to a real A State of Trance experience. On the terrace, Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Ashley Wallbridge will play progressive and slightly harder trance, whilst Jochen Miller will treat clubbers to tech and hard trance, with a hint of techno thrown in for good measure. This is a real treat for any trance fan.

5. We.Are.Definitive, Bora, Bora Beach Bar, Playa d’en Bossa, TBA

One of the most famous bars in Ibiza, at Bora, Bora you can party all day and all night, dance in the sand or on the tables… all for FREE! Music crosses most genres from chillout to tribal. However, you definitely won’t want to miss the parties held there this summer by Definitive Recordings. John Acquaviva and Olivier Giacamotto will host four We.Are.Definitive parties, which are bound to blow the roof off the Bora, Bora. Showing the versatility of the artists on this label, set lists will cover all styles of house, tech and progressive, proving why the label’s mantra is ‘house for all’. Keep your eyes peeled for dates and get down early to grab yourself a table to dance on.
