Ghostpoet announcement: New single ‘Liiines’ and UK Tour

Ghostpoet will release ‘Liiines’ on September 5th through Brownswood Recordings. ‘Liiines’ is to be the final single from Ghostpoet’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam.’
Ghostpoet aka Obaro Ejimiwe has quickly and quietly cemented his stature as one of the UK’s most exciting and original artists. Heralded a mighty force to be reckoned with by inspirational figures such as Roots Manuva and Mike Skinner of The Streets, Ghostpoet is no flash in the pan.

Obaro’s debut album ‘v’ is crammed with his loveably ramshackle, homemade productions and instantly recognisable vocal ditties, whilst ‘Peanut Butter Blues…’ is a neat summation of the MC’s musical journey to date, but also an impressive statement of intent.

New single ‘Liiines’ is a nod to Ghostpoet’s formidable live presence, swapping laptop drum loops and MIDI synths for a clattering live kit and crunchy guitars. It’s this masterful blend of guitars and electronics that has earned Ghostpoet tour support slots for the likes of Metronomy and Jamie Woon in recent months.
The video for ‘Liiines’ has been directed by Nick Bentley (Two Door Cinema Club and Fenech Soler) and the remix package will include a rework from XXXY.

After a triumphant summer of festival appearances including Glastonbury, Sonar and The Great Escape - Ghostpoet announces his first ever headline UK tour commencing September 2011.

Don’t sleep on this young, inventive, British artist – the amazing and heartwarming product of our perpetually evolving British sound system culture – he’s destined for greatness.
