LFW Designer Profile: Christopher Raeburn
One of the few designers that can be named as notably ‘ethical’ Christopher Raeburn, re-utilises military fabrics crafting both Mens and womenswear. Christopher has been attracting attention from fashion industry admirers all over the world. The Inuit coat from Christopher’s AW10 collection was featured in a US Vogue, sustainable fashion article. Vogue told us all to ‘Remember the four R’s: reduce, reuse, recycle and Raeburn’. Vogue has spoken and we would be foolish not to listen. 2010 also saw a fashion first with Christopher winning both NEWGEN mens and womenswear in one season.
This September, Raeburn will make another LFW first. On Friday the 16th of September, The Museum of London will host Raeburn’s SS12 presentation. A very natural and progressive partnership not only viewing the collection, visitors will be able to experience how touch, sight and sound interact. Hurrah ‘ Tactile textile’s and tactual tones’ sound like a higher plane of fashion joy. Butterflies already Christopher; butterflies already.
