Originally founded in 1920 to make tires for the fledgling aviation industry, Palladium have always had unique expertise. With aircraft manufacturing grinding to a halt at the end of WWII, they opened a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France, with the notion of manufacturing footwear with the durability and security of their tyres. In 1947, the legendary boot was born; today, the original design and utility are as relevant as they have ever been. Palladium have always considered “exploration and discovery” as their ethos, and so it seems fitting to kick off “Tokyo Rising” in such a pair.

Persistent challenges still lie ahead for Tokyo after the tragedy of 3/11. The city’s creative class, however, is not disheartened, and remain hell-bent on making sure that their hometown continues to thrive.
