To the dulcet tones of Matthew Dear, the last show of the season opened (a back-to-back with Asger Juel Larsen) at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. And it was a goodie. Showcasing those widebrim Pasolini-peasant-style hats that were seen at Dior last season, T.Lipop’s perfectly-executed tailoring took on a rather Ibiza villa vibe; sharply-cut but still soft, the silk and crepe-de-chine fabrics seemed almost 1970s poolside glam; think Halston-does-menswear. Colourways took in chambray sheers and a gorgeous sand suede tunic, accented by bright white leather rucksack/hood combos and a TODIEFOR orange suede carryall that’s had this writer in lust for the entire run of the catwalk, and some hours beyond that. Sharp, almost ecclesiastical robes followed, as did a gorgeous silk bomber jacket. The vibe was future-holiday, which by the end of this season’s LFW suited us just fine. Looking forward to seeing where Mr Lipop pops up next. One to watch, without a doubt.
