Devastée kicked off Wednesday morning at Showcase, the hyperbranché nightclub under the arches of the Pont Alexandre. An intriguing invitation which featured a pop-out tombstone with a smily face doodled on it, hinted at the jovial goth theme to come. In a pallete exclusively in black, grey and white with the exception of one stand-out metallic silver bubble coat, the form was fluid in silk dresses, button-downs and little cardigans. Graphic prints of sinister florals and apocalyptic clouds added a twisted edge to what otherwise might have been a rather school-girly collection of knee-length shorts and belted dresses. A print of eiffel towers, skulls and cross bones, cats and pumpkins in a long sheer dress was a rather out-of-season Halloween touch, suggesting that our Parisian Devastée girl has a penchant for the ghoulish all year round. You’ll find her at Père Lachaise, wearing a silver bubble coat.
