The 15th of October is an important date. Put it in your diary now, because you will not want to miss the Johnny Parry Trio & Chamber Orchestra performing at Islington Town Hall. The trio, Mr. Parry himself, David Lynch (no, not that one, another one) and Ben Milway, will perform with a 30 piece orchestra to give you an evening of almost Victorian entertainment.
Johnny’s Trio and orchestral accompaniment will instantly transport you to the days when folk walked around in top hats and tail coats, and travelled by carriage through twisting cobbled streets. With morbidly romantic lyrics, soft gravelly vocals, haunting strings and a delicate soprano floating over the top; this promises to be an extremely beautiful evening of the old fashioned sort. Just imagine: a shabby, seedy theatre; the gloomy arena, thick with swirling cigarette smoke; one or two shady characters dotted sparsely around. How theatrical darling. Told you it was important date. And what’s more, we have some videos here to fire the imaginations in anticipation of a wonderful evening.
