Everybody loves a bit of healthy competition and oh boy do we have one for you. Anticipating the release of DRC Music’s album ‘Kinshasa One Two’ on Monday 7th November, DRC Music, Warp Records and Soundcloud have launched a remix competition for the track ‘Hallo.’ Groovy. The remixes will be judged by Warp Records and the DRC Music Collective and the prizes up for grabs include production equipment by Novation, Focusrite & Blue Microphone and Soundcloud ‘Pro’ Memberships. Ooo. Two runners up will also receive access to a Soundcloud Pro account for a year. Check it out here: http://remixhallo.drcmusic.org.
Profits from the album’s sales will go towards furthering Oxfam’s work DRC, so even if you’re remixing skillz aren’t quite up to scratch, you should still get involved. It’s all for a good cause folks.
As well as this, to help celebrate the album’s release on Monday, DRC Music will be perfoming in London’s ‘Pop-Up Congo,’ at the London College of Communication from 4.30-9pm. ‘Pop-Up Congo’ promises to be an afternoon of culture wonder, showcasing the best of contemporary Congolese music, film and photography. Entry is free so even more reason to get involved and help support the Congo. Good deeds for the day? Sorted.
