Deathly Doings at The Southbank Centre
After having all been attending various deathly discos on Halloween, then setting off many little firecrackers of our own I’m sure on Guy Fawkes night, we should all have our attention fixed firmly on the next festivity of the season, Christmas, right? Wrong. The folks down at The Southbank Centre are still lingering on All Hallows Eve themes of mortality and the dear departed as they announce the new programme for ‘Death: The Southbank Centre’s Festival for the Living.’
Running from the 27-30th January 2012, it will be a four day cornucopia of talks, music, performance and poetry which promise to shed a little light in the shadowy depths of human mortality. There will be a little bit of everything you could ever imagine to be included in such a deathly festival, from talks about writing obituaries to a, err, ‘vibrant’ collection of bespoke coffins. Of course.
If you fancy a little dice with death itself, then look no further. Check out The Southbank Centre‘s website for full event listings.
