Preview: Asics Sportstyle SS12 Collection
The reverence of Asics’ innovative new styles render all those painful memories surrounding the discomfort  and dowdiness of school P.E trainers defunct.  Bridging the gap between fashion and sportswear trainers, Asics presents each trainer with an individual appeal through unique silhouettes and, unsurprisingly, we cannot get enough of them.
The vast array of footwear in this collection not only features Japanese design details, but also compliments the evolution of the brand’s already established Asics Gel, Aaron, Biku and Corrido ranges. We spent this afternoon flicking through the lookbook to select our favourites and these three from the Gel series – as pictured above – are our top choices.
From left to right, we have the Gel Lyte III, priced at £80. This reinterpretation of the classic design features a staggeringly cool splattered paint effect on a wonderfully comfy looking sole and includes the iconic split tongue. Next up is the multicoloured Gel Saga II, priced at £90, which includes a special side panel, padded upper collar and long-lasting resiliency. Finally for £75, we have the GT II, in all its cutting edge exterior and maximum shock absorption glory, which is a rejuvenated version of Asics’ famous style that inspired numerous additions of the range.
But what do y’all think? Which designs will make the top of your Christmas lists? Let us know in the comment box below. And for more information on the designs, and for a perusal of Asics’ other inimitable footwear offerings, head to their website here.
