Twins For Peace – Footwear With A Purpose

There was once a period when ethical fashion rarely struck us between the eyes with desire and when it occasionally did, the highly covetable pieces were highly overpriced. Thankfully those are times of yore with the likes of Esprit, Christopher Raeburn and Ada Zanditon, to name but a few, recently sourcing materials for their stunning collections ethically.

Joining these prestigious troops of designers pushing environmentally friendly designs are the tremendously cutting-edge Twins For Peace. A wondrous collaboration between twin brothers Maxime and Alexandre Mussard and their best friend Louis Felix de Fenoyl, The Parisian brand Twins for Peace crafts trainers which are admirable and timeless. We rigorously applaud how the styling for this current collection propels the notion of guilt-free footwear into the realm of sexy and alluring.

As part of their work, each year Twins For Peace travel to a developing country for their Donation Project which is a ‘one for one model’ meaning for each pair of Twins For Peace sold, they’d donate a pair of their shoes to a child in need. But since taking this project to Brazil, Mozambique and Colombia and meeting thousands of children living in favelas, orphanages or without any home, the people at Twins For Peace were compelled to give more.

In partnership with SOS Enfant, Twins For Peace now donate medical supplies, school tuition, books and supplies to children living in impoverished countries. Their brilliantly bold but basic shoes, which are made from top-notch Italian materials like satin, suede and canvas, are also produced in a family owned factory in Portugal. And if they weren’t already commendably environmentally conscious enough, their packaging is also made from 90% recycled paper.

These sublimely slick shoes are available across the world but Londoners can head to Dover Street Market, Harvey Nichols, Asos and Okini to purchase. For more information and to buy online, visit their website here.
