Preview: Roundhouse Rising

ZOMG! LFW AW12 is dawning upon us already; it seems like only yesterday that we were running from Somerset House to various ambiguous West London venues snapping and iPhone noting this Spring/Summer’s fashion, coffee cups permanently fused to our hands.

We cover lots of bits and bobs during Fashion Week here on PN (obvs), so to relieve the anti-fashionistas of an onslaught of trends and hashtags and general shit fashion girls say, we’re covering another Music Festival. Yes, the second of this year and it’s only February. But this ain’t no ordinary music festival, no siree. This is Roundhouse Rising, two weeks’ of music events for 14-25 year-olds, based mainly at The Roundhouse in Camden.

From February 10th to February 18th, we’ll be covering various gigs featuring bands like Beaty Heart and Jewellers, joined at some events by The Roundhouse Choir. We’re also gonna be attending panel discussions on topics such as Music Production and Promotion; industry experts such as DJ Hannah Holland, Reverend and the Makers’ Jon McClure, journalist Chantelle Fiddy and Radio 1′s Jen Long will be heading the talks.

Look out for interviews with alt girl band The History Of Apple Pie and Beaty Heart (who will be collab’ing with The Roundhouse Choir) on PN later this week. We’ll be reporting from the scenes of the festival over the next fortnight, so stay tuned. For a taster of what you can look forward to, see what Hannah Holland had to say on how to get into DJing in our interview with her at Bugged Out.

If you’re interested in attending any of the Roundhouse Rising events (we highly recommend it if you want to get into The Music Biz), go to the official website to book tickets.
