RetroSuperTrainer Week: Fila

So we’re feeling trainers, since our trip to Bread & Butter in Berlin a couple of weeks back. There’s something very HASHTAG-NOW about a chunky running sneaker, and it;s a great antidote to OTT-heritage £440-a-pair leather boots that take 2 months to break in, and £5 Brick Lane plimsolls [these should definitely be binned now - Ed] that fall apart in the slightest rain. Plus, they’re damn comfy. Anyway, we chatted to a few trainer brands, and here we have RetroSuperTrainer week – our pick of the best retro-super-OMG-AMAZE trainers that you can get your feet into now. First up, Fila:

As you may or may not have noticed, there’s been a bit of snow in the British Isles. So instead of pulling up your wellies to face the arctic tundra (FYI wellies are hideous. You’re not Kate Moss at Glasto, the reality is that they give most legs the definition of a Cumberland sausage and are the grip equivalent of having banana skins attached to your feet) make like a rugged mountaineer and brave all weathers in Fila’s Trailblazer boots. Taking design inspiration from vintage outdoor pursuits, these sturdy boots gripped rubber soles were made for all terrains. You can laugh in the face of foolish wellie wearers scudding their arse on the snow swept streets while you skip merry past in your colour pop Trailblazers. Ha.
