LFW: Felder Felder

Getting into the Felder Felder show was a bit of a scrum, but then the sisters show has become one of the hot tickets at #LFW. And on the strength of today’s collection, this is a well-deserved accolade. The sisters presented a vision of trippy, autumnal prints across their now-trademark slim-cut, sexy dresses. Reflecting a blurring of the seasons, as in-store lines struggle to keep apace of the web’s instantaneous reporting, Felder’s dresses are an absolute tour de force. Soft jersey was contrasted with the metallic leather that they showed to rapture last season, with some fabulous loose-knitted pieces over. Belts and clutches in matching prints, and trend nods (sheepskin coats; contrast sleeves; shoulder detailing – which seems to be EVERYWHERE this season already, and it’s only Day 1) kept the youthful vibe alive, as did a healthily celeb-studded FROW. Think Alexandra Burke, Pixie Lott, Grace Woodward (looking exactly like Eddie from Ab Fab), Brix Smith-Start and Kate Nash (who is inexplicably everywhere this season too, but somewhat less welcome than shoulder detailing). What we saw shows that London can deliver designers who are both experimental and wearable, which is the true mark of being a London designer.
