Antony’s Meltdown Festival 2012 Line Up Released!

And the results are in! Now in its 19^th year Southbank’s Meltdown Festival has released the 2012 line-up for curator and lead singer of Antony and the Johnsons, Antony Hegarty’s event.

Notorious for providing audiences with an array of remarkable events that celebrate musicians, artists and thinkers that have inspired the life and art of the host, this year, Antony has chosen his favorites from all across the artistic scale.

We are delighted to announce that this year’s event will include the melodious likes of the lovely Scottish vocalist and pioneer for alternative rock Elizabeth Fraser, synth pop and New wave sensation Marc Almond, the successfully avant garde performer Diamanda Galás, the dynamic sisterly duo CocoRosie, former Meltdown curator and musical legend Laurie Anderson and many, many more.

As per usual, the celebration doesn’t stop there! For all you film fanatics, this event will also feature four rarely screened Super-8 short films by Derek Jarman, an appearance by film director and video artist Charles Atlas and the return of the great Hal Willner.

Sure to be an explosion of cultural fun, you won’t want to miss out on the 2012 Meltdown Festival set to take place 1-12 August 2012.
