British Menswear Designers Collective @ Bicester Village

As Charlie Porter, menswear journalist extraordinaire and deputy editor of Fantastic Man, put it – “2012 is a very important year for British Menswear”. After a period of rising interest in British Menswear design – new labels launching, old labels relaunching and an ever swelling number of attendees and events at London Fashion Week’s Men’s Day – 2012 see’s the launch of the first London Collections: Men, a dedicated platform for British Menswear design talent and London’s first entry onto the international men’s fashion week circuit. And so, what better time than now to launch the first British Menswear Designers Collection at Bicester Village, the renowned chic outlet shopping haven.

After three years celebrating exclusively womenswear designers, the first British Menswear Designers Collective – an ongoing partnership between Bicester Village and the British Fashion Council – see’s a range of talent being opened up to the shopping public. With a mix of formal and casual, clothing and accessories, the 20 strong range of brands includes the likes of Lou Dalton, James Long, E.Tautz, BStore, Margaret Howell and Jonathan Saunders to name but a few. Stocking pieces from previous collections at a discount of up to 60%, the light and colourful store is nestled amongst Bicester’s many high profile outlets.

At the store’s launch on Wednesday afternoon, after a delightful train journey filled with Bistrotheque deliciousness, we picked just 5 of our favourite pieces from the store, one of which we had to change after it was bought within the first five minutes.

#1 – Jonathan Saunders shirt, £213.

#2 – Margaret Howell top, £75.

#3 – E.Tautz mac, £537.

#4 – Chucks shorts, £87.

#5 – BStore shirt, £90.

Bicester Village is easily accessable by train from London Marlyebone, with the British Menswear Designers Collective running for a limited time only. We recommend you get down there fast, while there are pieces still left!
