Introducing our BOTW: Kwes

London based pop maestro Kwes has had something of a rise of late. Since starting out as a producer for people like The xx and Micachu, he has penned a solo record deal with Warp Records (home to Battles, Grizzly Bear and Flying Lotus), played a set for the illustrious Boiler Room, and released an EP. Not bad for seven months work.

Anyway, his latest EP, Meantime, is wonderful, production heavy record in the same vein as something like NZCA/Lines or Micachu – basically, for want of a better term, it’s off-kilter pop music with a twist of SBTRKT-like post-dubstep, and we like it a lot.
