LCM: MAN – Shaun Samson

One third of this year’s MAN, Shaun Samson brings an eclectic and fun collection to the runway. Samson confesses his research to be in the realms of car and body modification, an aspect certainly visible in the metallic flashes that exude from not only his t-shirts but also his models ears.

Things get slouchy as once again we sense hints of West Coast cool on the LCM catwalk, but this time it’s conveyed via more relaxed and oversized shapes. Studded cats and socks with sandals bring a warmth and humour to the collection as brave hints of chiffon and geometric shapes confirm the designer’s faith in British eccentricity. Whispers of grunge are offset by peach panelling and a chest is bared to catch the rays reflecting off some chain-mail-esque shorts. Exciting, versatile and promising, Samson has convinced this audience to pay attention.
