LCM: Pringle of Scotland
After only a few short seasons at the helm, Pringle of Scotland’s SS13 menswear collection was to be the last for current Design Director, Alistair Carr, after the brand reccently announced his replacement by Pringle’s in-house design team.
In a farewell ode, Carr’s final collection exhumed Pringle’s casual and refined luxury, infused with just the right amount of modernity for this heritage brand. Camo and check prints in red, blue and green where interspersed between neutral, straight cut tailoring in luxurious fabrics. Knitwear was undoubtably a highlight – this is Pringle after all – as were navy and grey panelled trousers, cream and printed bombers and backpacks made to look like jackets (we’re calling them jackpacks).
A well orchestrated mixture of heritage and modernity, the collection was a most befitting goodbye for Carr, posing the questions ‘why is he leaving?’ and ‘what happens next?‘
