He’s got a cheek bone tattoo and he’s such good mates with Ed Sheeran that they did this video together. And it doesn’t look like anything can stop Angel’s inevitable domination of both the earthly and heavenly realms. Hailing from Shepherd’s Bush and hiding a whole lotta hip-pop tricks up his sleeve, you better get used to seeing the face of an Angel on a more frequent basis. You should also get used to people like me using holy puns.
Angel also seems to have some talent (shock horror!) to set him apart from his more forgettable grime/dance/pop brethren. His alliance with Sheeran and ‘multi-instrumentalist’ label certainly made us take him seriously. Let’s hope that ‘Wonderful’, which is released on 6th August, can punctuate the Top 40 and our hearts.
In the past Angel – real name Sirach Charles – has penned hits for Pixie Lott, Jason Derulo and Roll Deep. It appears, however, that Angel has totally ignored the prospect of resting on his laurels. With consistent nods to his influences (including Prince and Terry Lewis) but feet firmly planted in the present, we reckon that Angel’s popularity is about to go stratospheric. All in all, Angel boasts a stellar past and promising future.
