If you’ve been watching the Spring Summer 2013 men’s looks unfold on the runways with as much excitement as we have here at Notion, then you’ll no doubt be counting the days until you can get your hands on those clothes. Of course you’ll need new hair too and that’s something you can get today – but what to go for? Here’s a round up of some of the key trends seen on the catwalks over the past few weeks…
Lanvin (main pic)
The looks at Lanvin were sleek and severe at the same time, shaved close on the sides and at the back with a long blunt fringe. In many ways the juxtaposition of freshly razored hair and flowing fringes mimicked the collections aesthetic. Fitted tailoring was offset against deconstructed pieces and black was paired with white. For the Lanvin look, get your barber to shave the sides and back, leave it long on the front and blow-dry your fringe with a little shine serum.
The hair at Raf was a slightly more extreme version of his looks from last season. The hipster fringe was extra long, curly and hides practically half of the models face. Raf has always had a knack for capturing ultra modernity in a few simple moves, this seasons hair is just one example of that. Some wet look gel or non matte wax and a few months growing your fringe out will help you achieve this look.
Comme Des Garcons
If you wanted a hairstyle that’s a little more ‘high impact’ then Comme des Garcons have got you covered. Bright orange hair adorned every model at Rei Kawakubo’s show, but if the inspiration came from Ziggy Stardust it certainly didn’t show in the clothes. You’ll need to find a hairdresser able to dye your hair that particular shade of orange and find yourself a studded hair band too. This ones not for the faint of heart.
