IN IT TO WIN IT is a new exhibition launching Thursday July 19th at The Book Club, Shoreditch. Created by artist Andy Macgregor this bold new papercraft show is inspired by the visual language of the Olympic games and influenced by artists including Peter Blake (Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band), Hollywood movie poster artist Bob Peak and Herbert Bayer of the Bauhaus movement. The dynamic handcrafted show constructed entirely out of paper will create large scale 3D pieces, both hung and wall mounted to transform the ground floor bar of the Shoreditch venue with the energy and drama of the Olympic spirit referencing iconic sporting imagery as the foundation of the new works.
Andy Macgregor is assisted in IN IT TO WIN IT by fellow papercraft artists including Thomas Bird, and The Double-Up Girls who are currently working hard to complete the pieces for The Book Club launch next Thursday, see the gallery below for work-in-progress images.
IN IT TO WIN IT runs Thursday 19th July 2012 to Sunday 9th September 2012
