See Hitchcock’s rare film The Ring streamed live

And now a treat for both cinema buffs and those sick of their friends asking if they want to go see the Avengers again. The BFI National Archive has recently restored Hitchcock’s silent masterpiece The Ring to it’s former glory and it’s set to be streamed live from London’s Hackney Empire this Friday the (gulp) 13th. The premiere will be accompanied by a specially commissioned soundtrack composed and performed by award-winning jazz musician Soweto Kinch. Sounds like a bloody good night in to me.

Where can us mere layman go to watch this stream? The Space is your host for the evening, also providing Hitchcock documentaries and an interview in the run-up to the premiere. Excellent. We will be tuning in and trying not to laugh at the last syllable of Alfred’s moniker. Don’t pretend you haven’t done it.
