Club Beat #42: Preview: Mellophonik Presents Louie Cut

Grab your diary now because this is an event you won’t want to miss. On Friday 27^th July our friends, Mellophonik , will be bringing Louie Cut to Egg Club London for his first ever London show!

Situated in Kings Cross, Egg has proved itself to be a real contender, if not the leader, in London’s underground clubbing scene. Embracing all music genres, the venue has grown to become one of the most popular clubs in the capital, attracting a wide variety of visitors. On Friday 27^th July, we advise arriving just that little bit earlier, as it’s sure to be a packed night. Yousef and Carlo Lio will be headlining in the main room, supported by Alex Tepper. Mellophonik will be hosting the terrace, bringing you sets from Minitse, Brad Francis, Telmo Fernandez, Miley, Mr Turbo B2B DJ Weeksey, Deejay Linkz, Darren Dynamikz and Andy Vickers, all lead by Louie Cut.

At the top of the line-up, Louie Cut is not to be missed. No stranger to the beatport minimal chart, in 2011 more than forty of his tracks reached the top 100. These include, Pink Panther, which reached #1, Agent Minimal and Fat Bee, both reaching #2, and Minimal Impossible, which reached #3. Louie had sixteen tracks in the beatport minimal top 100 on the same day! This year, his remix of Chris Lawyer’s Right on Time (released in May) remained at #1 for weeks on end and, in February, Fat Bee was nominated for ‘Track of the Year’ at the Beatport Music Awards. Louie has released tracks on labels including Italo Business, Butane and one of our firm favourites, Bosphorus Underground. In August 2011 he started his own label, Strict Recordings, releasing funky and modern minimal and techno with groove and originality. Louie has been DJing since 2006, performing in countries like the United States, Mexico, Spain, Germany, France, Hungary and Switzerland. He has shared stages with the likes of Ramon Tapia, Andrea Bertolini and Format: B. For his first ever London show, he will be playing a three hour set. You can expect to hear some seriously fresh minimal and techno, featuring crisp baselines, funky beats and juicy grooves.
