Dream of Me by Kristina Train
In this era of reality TV created pop stars, it is a breath of fresh air to hear a new artist with their own original and unique identity. Newly signed to Mercury Music, if her single ‘Dream of Me’ is anything to go by Kristina Train could be that breath of fresh air.
Music has always played a big part in Kristina’s life; she was in and out of school choirs and bands at a young age and is also a classically accomplished violin player. Born in New York City but raised in Georgia, the smooth southern influence is detectable in her bluesy voice, but it isn’t just where she is from that has shaped Kristina’s sound, at 30 years old Kristina has a vast and eclectic range of influences including the formidable Aretha Franklin, Old blue eyes Frank Sinatra and Bruce ‘the boss’ Springsteen.
After a shaky start in the music industry, Kristina became even more determined. Last year she moved to London on a permanent basis to co-write her album with the help of Martin Craft and Ed Hardcourt. This time Kristina really feels as though she has got it right; that this is the album she was meant to create. Recent airplay suggest that she isn’t the only one who thinks so, BBC, Smooth Radio and Magic FM have all added the track to their local radio playlists This single, Dream of Me is the debut release from Kristina’s forthcoming album Dark Black, which is due to be released on October the 29th.
