Club Beat #58 – Saturday Sessions: Residents Takeover Ministry of Sound

This weekend, Ministry of Sound are bringing us a Saturday Sessions with a twist when their resident DJs take over the main room. Read on for a run-down of this exciting line-up.

Newly appointed residents, Shane Patrick, Sheldon, Junior G and Tim Cullen will be taking to the CDJs at Ministry as they take control of the Box. Ministry discovered Shane Patrick after running a competition with Data Transmission where he sent in two very different mixes. The mixes showed his understanding of both underground and mainstream music, which would make him a valuable member of the residents team. Sheldon’s career has really taken off this year with a release out on Diffused, support from Mark Knight, Mau5trap and Michael Woods, and performances in the main room at Ministry and festivals over the summer. We’re looking forward to seeing what he brings to the decks. Junior G is a rising star; he is currently concentrating on his first release and his performances. Have a listen to his mix recorded live from Ministry’s Saturday Sessions back in June. Last but certainly not least, Tim Cullen returns to the main room. With various collaborations and solo productions, he hit the #1 spot on djdownload.com, trackitdown and traxsource with his remix of So Called Scumbags’ Good Times and has several upcoming releases on Grin, Hotfingers and Toolroom. Here at Planet Notion we were lucky enough to catch Tim performing in both the bar and the main room at the beginning of July. With the residents in command of the main room, the remaining rooms will be taken over by other Ministry regulars. Electronic Session will be hosting the bar 103 with special guests, Prok & Fitch. Ministry of Sound world tour DJ, James Murray, and the crew from Gifted will be commandeering the Loft. Finally, there’ll be a Wonky takeover in the Baby Box. So, a big choice of artists in every room.
