Matthew Dear is an electronic artist whose output of work has been some of the most coveted of his generation. For the past ten years he has been putting out his original take on IDM – mostly through Ghostly International, the brilliant independent label he started with Sam Valenti. As well as putting out five records under his own name, Matthew has released under False, Jabberjaw, and the more well-known Audion.
After a decade spent on the electronica scene, Dear has yielded an increasing status of credibility – most recently, he’s played a set for the brilliant Boiler Room. We’ll be reviewing his new album Beams later this week, as well as giving away a track and video, and publishing our interview with the artist himself. ‘Til then, have a listen to his BR mix below.
