Exclusive stream: Blänk’s brilliant new EP Áurinko Rising Again
We want you to chill on this cool, breezy Wednesday (or whatever day it is that you’re stumbling across this page), which is why we’re presenting you with an exclusive stream of Swedish group Blänk’s new EP, Áurinko Rising Again. Airy, light and dreamy, this 5-track EP is jam-packed with youthful and electrifying beats that’ll do a great job at prolonging the summer.
Áurinko Rising Again starts out strong with ‘Do This Thing (Ft. Noonie Bao)’, a catchy song that we’ve officially dubbed the EP’s star track, and then moves on to somewhat smoother songs with equally inspiring tunes – if ‘Seaside’ made us dream, we were pretty much on cloud nine when ‘Hurting’’s liberating beat echoed into our ears. If this EP doesn’t help you get over that good old midweek crisis, it’ll at least give you goose bumps and a chance to escape from reality for a good 18 minutes and 32 seconds.
Áurinko Rising Again will be out on 27th August on Grind Records.

The live clip was recorded in Blänks home in Ryssbält, Swedish lapland. “We packed our gear and headed north to our home region, as we do several times a year. With our friend Erik from Piteå present to capture the magic, we rigged a makeshift studio at Klas’ parents’ summer home (If you look closely you can even see Klas’ father Benko enjoying his dinner). Right there by the sea of Bottenviken with Klas’ rescue dog, Isse in tow, we performed a mash-up of ‘Do This Thing’ and another song from the EP called ‘The Song I Sing’ – a song about Simon’s life as a dreamer.” Lina delivers ‘Do This Thing,’ a song about spontaneity, fun, freedom, and doing your own thing without worrying about what anybody else thinks. Friend of the band and songwriter, Noonie Bao helped write it and appears on the EP version. [...]
