Club Beat #60 – PREVIEW: Marcus Gauntlett, I Like It Like That

British DJ and producer, Marcus Gauntlett, has joined the ranks of London label, Crossworld Records, for his latest release. Inspired by the sounds of disco, ‘I Like It Like That’ is out on Sunday.

With a career already spanning ten years, Marcus Gauntlett has DJed worldwide for some of the most renowned club nights, including Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi, Pacha and Godskitchen, as well as performing at festivals like Glastonbury. As a producer, he has released over fifty singles and remixes, gaining support from the industry’s finest DJs and major radio stations, including BBC Radio 1. Now, Marcus joins forces with Crossworld Records on his latest offering.

Crossworld Records was created by two DJs who felt the need to be independent from labels that they believed were not making the interests of artists a priority. Releasing house, tech house and deep house, their roster includes artists like Lee Turner, Mikalogic and Sean Jay Dee. Their releases have been supported by Marco Carola, Mark Knight, Richie Hawtin, Nic Fanciulli, Funkagenda and many more. And the guys at the label are very exciting about their next release.

Crossworld Records describe Marcus Gauntlett as ‘being a true musical juke box; his sound has found its way to our ears, slowly reaching our hearts.’ Designing his tracks by the highest standards, his latest single, I Like It Like That, is nothing less than a classic in the making. Heavily influenced by old school disco house, this record is timeless in its own right. The varied elements of disco that he uses make the track fun; and the vocals, “This way… I like it like that”, are both enticing and playful. This is peak time at a party from back in the day all wrapped up in just over six minutes. It’s a genuine crowd pleaser so make sure not to let it slip!
