Top of the Shops: Fifi Wilson

Chelsea green is home to many a dreamy boutique capable of providing distraction on a rainy afternoon; the girliest of which no doubt, is the sparkly, fluffy Fifi Wilson!

It’s a candy-striped cave with glitter and colour on every rail, clothing, accessories and quirky gifts spilling off shelves.

Of the clothes, the mix is mostly designer diffusion and lesser-seen brands, carefully bought to fit into the overall atmosphere of the shop. Feminine pieces from See by Chloe, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Malene Birger sit alongside glitter-woven sweaters and wintery florals creating a genuinely unified story. Brands like Maison Scotch, Laundry Industry and Odd Molly up the Eurpoean-cool factor and ensure that Fifi Wilson keeps a fashion edge underneath the fluffy exterior.

Accessories are more of a mixed bag; jewellery from the likes of Stephen Webster sits among an array of gifts and sparkly transferable body art. However, the Fifi Wilson own-brand gift candles are inspired! I’m tempted to purchase a ‘Frisky in Fulham’ candle just in case the need for one ever arises. Luckily more boroughs are covered, (Naughty in Knightsbridge, Sexy in Soho, to name a few).

A small children’s section rounds off the boutique, adding another dimension to the ‘something for everyone’ effect, but really the best way to shop here is to focus on the fashion, find something no-one else has got and then perhaps pick up a surprise gift (for that Fulham-based friend) on the way out.
