LFW predictions: shoes

The shoes featured in many of last season’s collections didn’t simply complete each look wonderfully; they also killed the runway, with lively designs presented to us in fabulous hues. Which top three designers did we get down on our knees for? Have a look at our selection, and watch out for their soon-to-be hit SS13 shoe collections:

DAVID KOMA

Whilst other designers opted for fur or the occasional animal print, Koma decided to reinvent the animal-inspired trend by giving his shoe designs a canine touch. Uniting forces with the amazing Alain Quicili, Koma incorporated miniature greyhound sculptures into the wedges of his very fancy heels, and perfected this design with a pointed tip, a geometric shape and luscious colours. After this popular hit, we’re waiting for Koma to unleash more fiercely creative heels, born out of another great collaboration and created to suit his trademark sculptural garments.

SIMONE ROCHA

This young designer is just fresh out of university, yet her potential and creativity are blowing some of the more experienced designers right out of the water. Last autumn, we just couldn’t take our eyes off of her models’ footwear. Minutely designed to match each outfit and featuring her innovative Perspex soles, these cool flats had us up on cloud nine. We’re looking forward to more Perspex-based designs, perhaps revved up with a hint of brighter colours and bolder prints for a summery feel.

ZOË JORDAN

Although Jordan’s AW12 ankle boots looked simple, we were so inspired by the irresistible colour palettes that helped give them an exceptional contemporary edge. Inspired by the African desert, eighties high school varsity and 1980s fashion icon Tina Chow for her SS13 collection, we know to expect an eclectic mix of shoe designs from Jordan this season. We’re hoping she’ll combine these trends with some luxurious wedged heels in earthy tones, or some sleek sneakers to pump up her the varsity look.
