Joe Brummell #47 – Live and Let Dye!
The 90’s revival has brought back hair dye for men in a big way, but only in bright, crayon coloured shades. For anyone who wants a change of hair colour that’s a little more subtle, the choices are limited. There are plenty of hair dyes available on the high street; but nearly all of these are aimed directly at women. Thankfully Trevor Sorbie has us covered with the Trevor Sorbie Mg range of hair dyes, made specifically for men. Achromotrichia or ‘going grey’ begins for men typically in their early twenties. For women it occurs more commonly in their late twenties, so really us guys need all the help we can get. For anyone who’s not quite ready to become a silver fox the Trevor Sorbie Mg Hair dye is specially designed to both colour grey and blend in with your own natural hair colour. It’s simple to use, long lasting and will give your hair a natural shade. If you don’t have grey but just fancy a change then you can choose from five shades: natural blonde, light brown, medium brown, darkest brown and black. With ginseng, natural anti-oxidants and UV filters this high performance formula will protect your newly groomed style and keep the new shade locked in for longer.
We asked John Spanton, Technical Director at Trevor Sorbie Covent Garden for his top tips on how and when to colour your hair:
- Colour hair as soon you notice the first signs of grey appearing. This will prevent a totally new style and will instead ensure you look just like you.
- When selecting a shade, choose something that is closest to your original colour so that the finish is as natural as possible.
- To maintain your newly applied colour always use a conditioner
Looks like the silver fox is about to become an endangered species…
