LFW predictions: beauty

Who doesn’t go weak in the knees at the sight of a flawless set of hair and makeup? This happened to us more than ever before when these three designers sent their models down the runway, rocking the loveliest hair and makeup we’d seen in a long time. We’re expecting great things from their makeup artists and hairstylists this season…

Not once has PPQ failed to send its models out looking sexy and sultry, with both hair and makeup complementing each look to perfection. If the beauty trends spotted amongst the 2013 resort collections are anything to go by, then we like to imagine we’ll be seeing PPQ’s edgy styles paired with a cleaned-up version of the grungy look – which, of course, the label would unavoidably give a dash of what it knows best: glamour.

Looking at Osman’s SS13 pre-collection, the label seems to be bringing back the chic hairstyle it made smart use of last season: sleek, voluminous hair, gelled back to reflect the sophistication which shone brightly throughout the entire collection. This doesn’t surprise us – the look was so lush, we swooned with envy. We believe the label will be coupling this gorgeous hair with a bold pout, which would take it a step away from the nude makeup it rocked last season.

According to the talented Corrie Nielsen, her SS13 collection draws its inspiration from the fauna at Kew Gardens and will include sculptural pieces. Knowing the label made a stunning use of tartan for its AW12 makeup, we’re led to believe it will once again stun the crowds with an experimental yet refined look – possibly referencing flowery palettes and wild botanical themes, which we think would include defined bone structures, flushed cheeks or a strong brow, as well as glam stick-straight hair.
