LFW predictions: prints

Don’t you just love a good print? Because they vamp up any outfit with a burst of detail and colour, they make great statement trends all year-round. That’s why this category holds a lot of meaning to us, and that’s why we spent hours looking through last season’s print-happy collections in an attempt to answer the question which has been weighing on our minds: whose printed collection are we most looking forward to seeing this season? We’ve decided on three of our top favourites and, whilst our guess is as good as anybody else’s, here are the refreshing trends we think they’ll be bringing to LFW for SS13…

FELDER FELDER

Over the past two seasons, Felder Felder has been donning its models with absolutely gorgeous, expensive-looking prints which offer a wonderful, refreshing spin on its signature rock and roll style. We expect (and dearly hope) twins Annette and Daniela Felder will be exploring crazy chic prints even more, this time by pairing them with daringly contrasting colours whilst preserving their loud-meets-luxurious appearance.

MARY KATRANTZOU

If there’s one designer’s vibe we cannot resist, it is definitely Mary Katrantzou’s. Her collections are always filled with splashes of colour and quirkiness and are ideal for the outspoken woman. After a season of colour-blocked prints and patterns, we’re waiting to see her come forth with a new collection which experiments with something different: bold graphics and multicolour palettes…

AMINAKA WILMONT

Given this label’s weakness for abstract designs, we wouldn’t be surprised to see another selection of striking prints head down the runway this season. We’re thinking its part-Japanese roots (represented by designer Maki Aminaka Löfvander) will incite the label to match its seductive dresses with Oriental prints – a hot current trend which we’re sure will not be disappearing anytime soon.
