While we were hotfooting it around central London this week between the #LFW presentations, shows, installations and parties, we also found the time to sit down for a few film presentations. Seems like some of the designers are catching on to the fact that the internet is just as valid a place for showing your latest collection as in front of a selected audience; hence the massive upswing in livestreamed shows. These smaller designers have put the love, creativity and effort into their films, and we’ve picked our favourite five screenings here for your viewing pleasure.
A kaleidoscopic glimpse into the world of contrasting synthetic textures, bold geometrics and bright colours of Martina Spetlova. Psychedelic and utterly spellbinding to watch
Cristina presents a voyeuristic, dark and woozy look through a dappled dopple-focus series of meta-projections which contrasts beautifully with her playful collection. (It’s also in 3D – get your glasses here: firstname.lastname@example.org)
A haunting engagement between nature and fashion, truth and fiction; Jayne Pierson showcases her collection through a stunning and fractured look at reality
The dark industrial backgrounds in this film contrast beautifully with the fine, intricate and bold jewellery from designer Katie Rowland
Our favourite film presentation was this strikingly beautiful, atmospheric and just totally WOW film from Georgia Hardinge with some truly stunning underwater sequences.
