LFW SS12: Timur Kim

Flying the flag for LFW first-timers, this season (as per seasons previous), Vauxhall Fashion Scout played host to a number of fresh-faced designer talents. One of these was Timur Kim. Hailing from with Russia with a first love for denim, the blueprint of his SS13 set illustrated his fabric-led design approach with explicit references harking back to his home city, St. Petersburg. Patchwork-ed and panelled, gradated denim blues stood tall in long line trouser suits and floated outwards by way of trapeze-hemmed dresses. The heavier denims were annexed between lighter silk swathes and sometimes prettified with a white crochet collar or belt. Blue and white china plate slash paisley print graced high neck shirts, maxis and midis rendered in yet more silk. Separates comprised the previous blue panelling and white broderie anglaise in a more feminine figure show-off type fashion. Show highlight? Transparent belted macs, perf for fending off those pesky April showers. In summary: silky seventies spring summer goodness.
