The creators of Ketel One Vodka are calling on contemporary craftspeople around the world to join the Modern Craft Project – a competitive quest to discover, celebrate and support the most talented and entrepreneurial modern craftspeople; those who want to take their work, skills and themselves to the next level.
The Modern Craft Project will help up to three modern craftspeople in each participating country, in their pursuit of crafting excellence through the Ketel One Legacy – a substantial sum of money to further their work and vision, for example purchasing new equipment, taking on an apprentice, or taking space in a creative quarter. In addition, modern craftspeople will be offered the chance to feature in Wallpaper* magazine and on Wallpaper.com, bringing extraordinary levels of global exposure. The panel of experts, including Bob Nolet, 11th generation distiller of Ketel One Vodka and Tony Chambers, Wallpaper* editor in chief, will be looking for determined talent that thrills and inspires.
Those craftspeople who have mastered a skill, maintain a meticulous attention to detail and a personal commitment to their chosen passion, ignoring limitations and expectations to achieve their goals. They will demonstrate mastery of traditional skills applied in a modern context, showing an outstanding passion and dedication for excelling in their craft. Inspiration for the Modern Craft Project was gleaned from the fascinating collision of modernity and heritage which epitomises Ketel One Vodka. The product of over 300 years of family distilling expertise, fused with modern techniques and one man’s creative vision.
The Project will be helping selected craftsmen to take their work to the next level and to an even wider audience by giving them the chance to win a share of the Ketel One Legacy prize fund of £30.000 (Germany: €30.000).
