Rain Without Pain: The SWIMS Charles Full Brogue

So you’ve probably noticed that Autumn is well and truly upon us. Our shorts are stored away, the scarves are back out and we’re layering like there’s no tomorrow. But we’re still trying to work out what works best for our feet in this transitional period. It’s definitely not quite winter boot weather, but our lightweight trainers are getting trashed in all this rain. Enter SWIMS. A Norwegian company, specialising in waterproofs, they’ve been pushing at the edges of what’s technically possible with waterproof shoes. Made of high-density rubber and nylon, and lined in leather, the Charles Full Brogue is totally stormproof and exceptionally comfy, and for the shrinking violets in you, does come in more subdued colourways than the orange above. Anyway, they’re definitely worth checking out for perfect Autumnal jumping-in-puddles time.
