Mixing the tribal with the natural, Aminaka Wilmont’s SS13 collection juxtaposed dark tribal prints with light and airy floral silks in a way that was both complementary and contrasting. Dresses came closely cut and synched at the waist while boxy cut blazers, shorts and simply tailored shirts balanced the proportions of a collection infused with wearable separates. Again, the juxtaposition of light and dark transcended from clothing to beauty as faces adorned with animalistic and floral temporary tattoos – an emerging micro trends for the season (Corrie Neilsen ‘face lace’ anyone?) – added to the theme of natural conflict.
