Video: Lola’s Bad – Drown With Me
One of the most visually arresting clips we’ve seen for a while, the debut video from part-Brit, part-Greek multimedia duo Lola’s Bad ‘Drown with Me’ is a decadent, luxurious critique of self-indulgent contemporary pop. It’s the video equivalent of a golden era Vaughn Oliver album cover for 4AD; bold, primary colours clash with quasi-gothic imagery, making for something that draws you in but simultaneously warns you to be wary of it. Just imagine how Outkast’s ‘B.O.B.’ video would’ve looked had David Lynch directed it and you’re pretty much on the mark.
The duo – comprised of artist, choreographer, director and singer Evangelia C, and multi-instrumentalist and producer Bat Halliday – will be releasing the track as a single on November 5 with a London date preceding it on November 4 at Power Lunches, Dalston.
