Club Beat #92 – Preview: Alex Kenji & Richard Dinsdale, ‘Stars in the Sky’ feat. Kandace Ferrel

Co-owner of Hotfingers Alex Kenji joins forces with English producer and DJ Richard Dinsdale and female vocalist Kandace Ferrel for an uplifting release, ‘Stars In The Sky’.

Instantly recognisable, Alex Kenji’s productions contain driving grooves, hypnotic hooks and often emotive vocals. His collaboration with Federico Scavo, ‘Get Funky’, reached #1 in the Beatport house chart and was a staple in any set for months after its release. The Alesso remix of his track with Starkillers & Nadia Ali, ‘Pressure’, won Best Progressive Track at the 27th International Dance Music Awards in 2011. This is certainly a producer with an impressive track record! Alex is joined by Richard Dinsdale, known for his big room sound. Richard’s disco-tinged track, ‘DJ Got My Love’, notched up nine weeks as the #1 tune in the Beatport house chart last year. He continues to release killer tunes that hit the heights of the Beatport charts and receive support from a loyal following of fans and fellow producers alike. Finally, Alex and Richard call on the evocative vocals of Kandace Ferrell to complete this stellar line up.

Released on 26th November on Hotfingers, ‘Stars In The Sky’ sounds like a success story. Kicking off with a winding synth riff taken from Daft Punk’s suitably titled ‘Aerodynamic’, Kandace Ferrel’s vocals smoothly enter the mix as the layers build and build. Later, we’re introduced to that funky bass with whirring background sounds, before Kandace takes us higher and higher towards the sky. The release is complimented by an official music video containing some excellent child actors and an endearing plot.

Out soon, expect to hear ‘Stars In The Sky’ in the club and on the radio.
