LOCO London’s 2nd Year of Comedy

LOCO London is, for the second time, showcasing several comedy films for our enjoyment at the always lovely BFI Southbank and two new venues: the Hackney Picturehouse and Lexi Cinema.  From January 24th to the 27th, LOCO will showcase a handful of comedies, some more indie-minded and some featuring big names like Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, and the increasingly-mesmerizing Emma Stone.

Opening night will feature a special preview of the animated A Liar’s Autobiography, which recently premiered at the London Film Festival and features the talents of numerous Monty Python stars.  Directly following that preview will be What Have The Pythons Ever Given Us?, which has a fairly self-explanatory title.

Several other films will show, over the four days, and the festival will close with the UK premiere of Movie 43, which features all those big names I mentioned above and several more.  This film, by There’s Something About Mary directors The Farrelly Brothers, is a sketch comedy geared toward more adult audiences and is guaranteed to be pretty hilarious.

LOCO will also have an intriguing special event, a focus on women in comedy.  On Saturday the 26th of the event, the Working Women day will celebrate and campaign for more funny women that have made their mark.

Keep tabs on this festival by following them on twitter.
