Club Beat #93 – PREVIEW: Paolo Mojo, My Children

Out on 3rd December, courtesy of the Italian imprint 303Lovers, Paolo Mojo presents ‘My Children’.

Heralded as ‘a leading light in the underground house music scene’, Paolo Mojo has an enviable and extensive discography. With a huge variety of solo releases and endless special re-edits, this innovative producer’s technical ability has won him a loyal fanbase and support from several labels. His previous work with the Italian labels, 303Lovers and Hotfingers, has seen great success. The winding and building All night, Alright, released on 303Lovers and remixed by Manuel de la Mare, and his mesmerising Marathon Mix of Do Santos’ No Comprendo Noti Verisi, released on Hotfingers, both illustrate his ability to produce intricate and balanced tracks with infectious grooves. His latest release is no exception.

My Children is another irresistible house track from Paolo. The vocal phrases hark back to ‘90s house, with extra reverb and processing adding depth. The hook is basic, moving the track forward and providing a platform for the vocals, allowing them to remain the focus. The excellent production, interplay of vocal samples and depth of percussion bring the track bang up to date. Be warned: you’ll be singing, “You’re my children, one and all” all day!

Paolo Mojo’s My Children is out on 3rd December on 303Lovers.
