London In Stereo Presents… Gigs Of The Week #28

This week Sharon Van Etten plays one of her first UK gigs since signing to 4AD, there are a couple of discreetly-promoted gigs from the brilliant James Blake and Disclosure (where’s our invite?!), and we’re gutted that we won’t be in attendance at Alexisonfire‘s Farewell Tour gig tonight. London In Stereo picks appearances from Get People, Matthew Dear and Fidlar as their gigs of the week.

London In Stereos Gigs Of The Week

Get People // Cave Painting // Ivory Seas  - The Lexington - Thursday 6th December
We’ve been watching Get People for a while now and every track they come out with makes us fall in love with them a little bit more. Now with a big launch show at the Lexington they’ve pulled together a fantastic line-up of guitars and choruses. Their music has a dark edge but fingers crossed the night won’t.

Matthew Dear // The Invisible – Fabric – Wednesday 5th December
We’ve had Matthew Dear’s latest album ‘Beams’ on repeat for months now, and it’s definitely one of our albums of the year. With it’s hypnotic grooves and beats we’re really excited to get the chance to see and dance to it live.

Fidlar // Drenge – Dingwalls – Tuesday 4th December
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again Fidlar are one of the most entertaining live bands we’ve seen in forever, if you haven’t had a chance to catch them yet make sure you get down to Dingwalls and watch the place go totally mental to the racket.
